E-mail marketing has become the most efficient and cost-effective method to build and maintain relationships with your customers. But most people dread using email marketing because they fear being called a spammer. These fears can now be put to rest quickly by understanding the rules. This article will inform you how to conduct an e-mail campaign the correct way and help you avoid the worst thing that can happen to a marketer "Blacklisted by your ISP"

The Privacy Policy

Always continue to assure your clients and customers that the relationship with them is sacred and personal, and any information they share with you absolutely will no be disclosed to any third party. By using statements like "We respect your privacy," or "Your information will remain confidential," or "We'll never disclose your e-mail address" you will instill a feeling of trust among customers.

The Opt-In Method

One of the basic ways to obtain subscribers for your e-mail marketing subscriber list is the opt-in method. The Opt in list may also be called a permission based e-mail list. There are two kinds of opt-in lists: the single opt-in, wherein a person has to provide his e-mail address only once, and he's included on your list. Then there is the double opt-in approach, which is much preferred for preventing spam complaints.

With this method, after providing an e-mail address, a prospective client must click on a link in the e-mail , or form sent by you or your auto responder. Only then is he added to to mail list to receive e-mail from you. Both methods of sign up are appropriate, but it is usually the best idea to go in for a double opt-in method. Though you might lose a few clients who don't bother to click on link in the e-mail sent by you, it keeps your business safe from spam attacks.

The Unsubscribe Link

All potential subscribers and subscribers must be given the right to opt out of your e-mail marketing list. An unsubscribe link is required for this. This link is usually placed at the bottom of all the e-mail communications you send out. Giving customers this option makes them realize that you respect them, which in turn, translates into your gaining their confidence. More confidence means you get more business from them.

Avoid Words That Might Trigger Spam Filters

Words like 'free,' 'guaranteed,' 'cash,' or '$$$',also no { },( ) ,[ ] # % ,in the subject line often set off spam filters. Never attempt to copy and send a webpage or copy the web page code into an e mail. Sometimes too many punctuation marks might result in your e-mail being labeled as spam. Keep your language very simple, and avoid often repeated spam words, and you will avoid most of the pitfalls.

Play By The Rules

Learn the rules of your Internet Service Provider, best yet, use a mail sender program. This is important because not knowing them could get you banned from the server, if you fall into a spam trap. These were just a few simple ways to prevent being called a spammer. Now that you know them, you can implement them and start your e-mail marketing campaign with confidence.

Many individuals today are considering an alternative to the normal 9 to 5 jobs that most of us have come to accept as the norm. With the 2008 Summer Olympics starting in a couple of days, I sit and wonder what makes 100’s and 1,000’s of athletes from around the world converge on one location to compete to be the best in their field. Would you believe it’s a medal made of Gold on a colorful strap around their neck that they will probably never wear again in public once they leave that venue. Why would anyone work for years, 5, 10, 15 hours per day for weeks, months and years just to receive a medal worth just a few hundred dollars of gold as a prize? They could have worked a normal job and saved their money and been able to buy more gold than is in the medal and been able to enjooy the Gold jewelry every single day.

These individuals are driven by desire....to be the best in the world. Each one knows when he or she goes to these events they can be eliminated by someone who is better than they are. What drives them to be so successful? They have a dream, a vision if you will. They are focused, determined to be the best. Their success just don’t happen, their success is a result of a daily thought process of visualizing a goal, commiting to make it happen and practicing every day for hours on end, doing the same thing over and over until it becomes second nature in their thought process and actions.

Those who started the process and wasn’t driven enough to follow a discipline schedule didn’t make the cut. We can’t all be a winner. Even in Biblical times is states that all must run...some will run well, however, there can only be one winner. That person who is the best in the world....has earned the right to be called the best. It didn’t just happen. You are the only one who can make that decision regarding your future in life. What you did yesterday is history....today is a current event....and tomorrow is the future which is a direct reflection on the foundation you laid today. Make the right choices!

When marketing on the internet the principles of good work habits will bring success to those who are willing to put forth the efforts that breed success. Just because you started your internet marketing journey yesterday with a fancy website and lots of money to purchased the latest, greatest, get rich quick scheme to promote your opportunity....isn’t enough to become the winner overnight. Each of us must follow a similar process as the athlete who has committed his or her life if necessary to become the best of the best. Be willing to give blood, sweat and tears if necessary to make it happen.

Every single athlete at the Olympics has a coach. Getting started on the right foot....and learning the process of marketing your business opportunity on the internet is vitally important to your success! Learn some simple yet effective tips that will accelerate your learning process!

Most of us have been through the process of searching the web for that outstanding program that will make us millions of dollars. You know....the one where we can than retire in the islands and drink those fancy island drinks. The program that is the most wonderful thing since sliced bread! The one that you don’t have to advertise, make phone calls or do any recruiting. That type of poppycock....insults my intelligence.

How much money have you wasted on this kind of garbage? Everyone I talk to has been thru the same ridiculous procedure. I was in a meeting the other day and one of the individuals in the meeting had spent over $10,000 buying junk programs that was hyped to make them rich quick. If you don’t remember anything else here today, remember this one statement....There is NO legitimate get rich scheme that will make you rich overnight!! It takes work and dedication to be successful on the internet. Everything else is a lie.

Just making a fancy website with a lot of flash and hyped up content will ruin your chances of success on the internet. The search engines are not interested in flash, pictures and junk content. They are interested in one thing....and that is good keywords, and relevant content about your product or services being offered. By adding good content on a daily basis, search engine like Google will push your site to higher and higher positions. I reviewed a survey the other day, stating that 78% or more of the people who are doing a search for a product or service will Google the topic, business or individual that they are researching. Most people won’t go past page 2 of Google to research their interest. If you’re not positioned on page 1 or 2 of the search engines…you may never be found on the internet.

By consistently writing new articles with good keywords and content, Google will position you in their rankings so that people will find you quicker than if you just have a lot of glitz and glamour on your site. I reviewed a site this morning for a potential client who couldn’t understand why his site (which was well designed for looks) was going nowhere. When I reviewed the source code....there was NO keywords....NO meta tag description....and NO links. Plus there had been NO new content added since the site was built in June of 2005. It doesn’t take a take a rocket expert to figure out what’s wrong with that picture. However, if you don’t have the expertise to investigate the source, how would anyone ever know to look at the inner structure of the web site. You wouldn’t. Without proper training you probably don’t have a clue where to look either.

Most individuals don’t know how to go about building an effective, search engine friendly site. They don’t know where to turn to get the answers and learn the process. My name is Larry L. Writing articles is sometimes an arduous task that we all despise. Consistently writing articles with keyword specific content and posting those articles on the internet is the key to successful marketing. Individuals surfing on the internet are looking for information about a product or service they may be interested in at that particular moment.

Short, precise updated information is what it’s all about. Don’t try to hype a product and go on and on about your opportunity being the latest and greatest widget. Shoppers don’t like smoke and mirrors when looking to purchase an item. Shoppers are looking for straight forward information....about their interest at that moment.

The potential client will normally follow the cycle of human behavior. They will scan the content looking for words that will trigger additional interest in what they are already looking for. Commitment, Planning and Writing to Win

Writing articles….and publishing good keyword rich content on a consistent daily basis is imperative to earn online success. It takes a commitment to write an article that will have new meaning and effectiveness day after day. The more you write, the better you become at writing. Learn to write....by writing. Write as if you are talking to someone, and your own style will become powerful.

Having a strong Spiritual foundation makes this process manageable for me. The first thing I do everyday....read the Bible for at least 30 minutes with no interruptions. After my meditation....my mind is clear and in gear, and refreshed for my work activities for the day. Put first thing first in your life. The rest will fall into place like a puzzle.

Have a regular time slot for research....writing....and posting articles. This must be a top priority in your daily activities. One of the biggest pitfalls is to put off your writings until later in the day. Not writing the first thing in the morning, results in the failure to write at all. Commit to write early in your daily routine, otherwise all the other cares of life take over your time. Without consistent new content being written and published daily....your marketing endeavors will cease almost immediately.

Every time this part of my daily structure is interrupted....my day is out of step....for the rest of that day. My next step is to get my important e-mails out of the way. Don"t spend time on reading junk emails. Stay focused. Take care of business by making a list of events that need to be accomplished. Put activities in order of importance. Stay focused on that project until the project is complete. Then go to the next project.

Devote some time during your daily routine to learn something new, and then phase that new idea or procedure into a regular part of your daily routine. After a few days that new idea becomes an unconscious part of your daily activities.

If I don’t follow this simple plan, I become stagnant in my efforts to stay focused on the procedures and routines I have established. It takes discipline every day to keep the mind sharp and focused. If you don’t stay focused....its like a dog chasing his tail. He can’t catch his tail and he gets dizzy and has to quit this stupid act. May we all learn from that simple example! Stop going in circles and focus on the goals you establish for yourself. Stop chasing rainbows and get rich quick schemes.

The key to your success lies firmly in your hands. You can flounder all over the internet and waste a lot of money....looking to find a Magic Button. Forget it my friend....there is no such thing. It takes effort to make it happen. Commit the time necessary to make it happen. Each of us is different and our learning curve is sometimes challenged....however....we each need to sit down and talk to ourselves and evaluate exactly where we stand today and where we want to go in the future. Where do you want to go? Are you happy with your accomplishment of today? Re-evaluate your position and make the changes necessary to accomplish what is important in your life. Without good direction you will loose your way quickly. We will end up like the dog chasing his tail, right back where you started from. Dizzy....confused and the need for a plan....which you still have to implement. Stop wasting time and money and "get r done".

Make a plan….follow that plan, until the plan needs some adjustment. Patience is a virtue. Rome was not built in a day....neither will your success on the internet be happen overnight....be patient. Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you run into an obstacle or loose your way. There are individuals who are trained and willing to help you succeed in your online marketing challenges.

When marketing on the internet, consistency in publishing keyword rich articles is important to your success. However, there is a critical step most of us overlook….which is monitoring our position on the search engines. .When was the last time you checked to see where you rank in standings with Google? If you’re going to put forth the efforts of publishing articles, and promoting your business opportunity, then you should religiously check and monitor your positions with the search engines.

A number one position in your category with Google is the dream of most marketers. Only one person or business can enjoy position one at a time. Most individuals are content with a page one ranking. You can’t choose your family, but you can choose who you associate with. Attitudes….good or bad….is contagious.

Character is an necessity you must possess to become successful. In this day and age of anything goes….you need to think outside the box and consider whether your actions reflect a strong character. In this personal review, your actions must be unquestionable. Most of us are very conscience of whether what you’re saying is a lot of hot air, hype or untruthfulness…..or if what you’re saying is sincere and from the heart. Don’t try to BS you way through this business. Accept inabilities and learn to change the negative aspects of your life. Always be truthful in whatever you’re saying or doing. If you’re lying…..it will always come back to haunt you. This brings us to the next step.

Having a strong work ethics will definitely make the difference in success or failure in your future. If your work ethics has been questionable in your past…..you will probably not make it in this business very long. You must be a self-motivated individual and be able to control your time…..the time you’re willing to devote to your online activity. When considering starting a new business venture in your home town or on the internet, the planning should be well thought out. We are going to discuss in this article only the internet aspects of marketing online.

In your planning stage of internet marketing you should first consider a product or service you feel would be appealing to the general public and profitable for you. A product or service you are familiar with; will shorten your time frame of getting on the web. Possibly your vocation in life selling a product would be an asset because you already have the knowledge about the item you are going to put on your website. If you’re going to market a new product or service, be committed to study and understand every aspect of what you are going to market. Knowledge is imperative.

Then choose a name for your product or service. A cute name or catch phrase may raise some eyebrows, however, if that name or phrase is not a keyword to your business your site may go nowhere on the internet. Google likes keywords and keyword phrases relative to your product if you want top Google listings.

You should concentrate on a couple of important items when you construct your website. Search engines are not interested in flash and pictures. Google, Yahoo, MSN and other fine search engines look for content. Clear, precise, relative content is the secret to get your website recognized. Pictures are nice to look at, however, make sure those pics are relative to your business opportunity.

When you get the proper title for your business and website…..get the website built and post it to the internet…..then your next question is probably….”when will I get my first hit to my website?" No one knows. You can have the best looking website on the internet with all the glitter, flash and loaded with jokes….famous sayings….and all kind of other hype and still not see any results. What is the problem then? You must promote your site to the search engines before anyone will see your site.

Hand indexing your URL to the search engines is the quickest way to get recognition on the internet. With Google, MSN and Yahoo hand submission is the way to get your site moving to page one position with these fine search engines. Statistics show that most people when searching the internet for a particular product or services will not go past page one or two on any of these search engines. Not everyone can be number one, however, the higher position you can attain, the better your chances for someone viewing your opportunity will be.

When trying to promote your business opportunity on the internet there are a few things you must understand and implement into your presentation.

You must make sure your content is accurate in any article or website. This is particularly important if you are quoting someone. If you do use someone else’s content make sure you put their words in quotation marks and give that individual the credit they rightly deserve.

Use good keyword and keyword phrases in your article. This will get recognition by search engines like Google to pay attention to your article or website. I read an article the other day that 78% of all searches on the internet are done through Google. Thus the term "Google It."

Make your article clear and precise for the reader. Don’t get over technical or try to impress your reader with your computer skills. Not everyone is turned on by computer geeks.

If you’re really serious about marketing on the internet, you will need effective marketing tools. There are several marketing programs you can purchase, however, do some due diligence before putting your hard earned money on the line.
